FeedBurner FeedSmith: This plugin detects all the ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber. Feed Footer: This plugin from the maker of Buy-Me-a-Beer plugin adds custom footers (copyright, notices, advertisements) to the bottom of your posts in your RSS feed. The only limitation with placing ads is that you will be able to use only HTML coded ads and cannot use javascript enabled ads. No limitation on number of lines to be displayed as far as text is concerned, even 200 lines can be displayed in your RSS footers, if you desire. Snap Shots: This plugin adds functionality of previewing the links in your blog so that a visitor can decide whether or not to visit that particular link. As you move your cursor over the links, it displays a preview of the page that is linked. Subscribe2: Notifies an email list whenever new entries are posted. Subscribe2 provides a comprehensive subscription management system for WordPress blogs that sends e-mail notifications on a per-post or periodical basis to a list of subscribers when you publish new content to your blog. The plugin also handles subscription requests allowing users to publicly subscribe by submitting their e-mail address in an easy-to-use form or to register with your blog, which enables greater flexibility for e-mail content for the subscriber. Administrators are given control over the presentation of the e-mail notifications, can bulk manage subscriptions for users and manually send e-mail notices to subscribers. Versions 2.21 and 3.7 are currently available for download and the download link, installation guide etc., can be had from the Subscribe2 plugin page.
Buy Me a Beer: This plugin allows your blog visitors to make a donation for your work (buy you a beer/coffee) by sending you money through PayPal. This plugin’s author, Ankesh Kothari, has a past experience that shows him asking people to donate money by giving them a specific reason increases donations by 200% (read more in the “power of specific phrasing…“); though I haven’t benefitted a single penny from this plugin until now, hence it didn’t find a place in Top Ten Wordpress Plugins of MT Herald! For people who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, there is a setting to replace the beer mugs with coffee cups too! My inbox got flooded with spam mails because of this plugin and it also reveals the paypal email ID to all those nasty hackers. So it is more of evil than goodies, hence dropping this plugin out of this blog.
