On behalf of MT Herald Dot Com, thanks to all those plugin developers who skewed up their brain to write down those PHP codes. Here is the list:
Adsense-Deluxe: AdSense-Deluxe is an easy-to-use plugin for WordPress 1.5+ for quickly inserting Google or Yahoo! or whatever ads of your like into your blog posts, and managing when and where those ads are to be displayed. The entire Adsense code is called in by an HTML comment every place you want the ad to appear inside the post. Really a handy tool to deal with all those ads, previewing them, enabling or disabling them globally or on individual posts etc. Get all the listed features, advantages, installation guide, download location, etc., from Adsense-Deluxe (by Acme Technologies) home page.
Aizatto’s Related Posts: As we know the relevance of internal linking in Search Engine Optimization, this plugin performs that to a little extent by returning a list of the related entries based on active/passive keyword matches at the end of each post as you see at the end of this post and thereby retaining a reader on the site for a little more time. The best part of this plugin is that you DO NOT need to modify your template files to include the “Related Post” section. It goes directly to the bottom of your post, got the option of with or without excerpt and includes into the RSS feed too, may be a way of prompting an RSS reader to visit your site. I tried many other similar plugins for this functionality, which include Wasabi’s Related Entries, Madhujit Ghosh’s Contextual Related Posts, Semiologic’s Related Posts, RMarsh’s Similar Posts, Christine Davis’ Ultimate Tag Warrior, Darren’s Bowl of Foo’s Related Posts, Peter Bowyer’s Related Posts etc., but none of them to my satisfaction as Aizatto’s Related Posts. I really fell in love within this plugin after a deep, month-long search and trial for this functionality, thanks Ezwan Aizat Bin Abdullah Faiz. He has withdrawn support/the site where he blogged about this plugin but you can download Aizatto’s Related Posts here.
Akismet: Akismet is a comment spam watchdog that checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You can review the spam it catches under “Manage” and it automatically deletes old spam after 15 days. Really a wonderful plugin that filters out spam comments for just the sake of links by spam bots. Get the installation guide, download link etc., from Akismet’s Download Center.
Date Exclusion: Gives your blog a feeling of freshness by turning off the display of date information after a specified number of days or immediately after posting. Exclusion of date information can be set by default in the plugin file and/or manually for each post. Find the details, installation guide, configuration etc., at Daily Blog Tips.
Google Sitemaps: As said in Search Engine Optimization Techniques, this generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. The format is supported by Google, YAHOO and MSN. Download location, installation guide, latest version etc., can be had at Google Sitemap Generator (by Arne Brachhold) home page.
IMM-Glossary: The IMM-Glossary plugin gives WordPress users an easy way to create and manage an online glossary of terms relevant to their blog. Adding terms and linking to them by hand is a tedious process. The IMM-Glossary plugin makes keeping your readers educated easy. Get the features, screenshots, instructions for use, download link etc., from Internet Marketing Monitor’s Glossary Plugin page.
IMM-Meta Tags: If you want to get to the top in searches with search engines, this one helps you doing that. You could see the title of this article added at the top left hand corner of the browser, this plugin does that apart from helping to display an excerpt of the page/post in searches. The IMM-Meta-Tags plugin makes editing and customizing just about any meta tag on your site a snap. No code editing is required. Pick and choose the meta tags you want to use. You can enter default values and enter custom values on posts and pages. I prefer IMM-Meta Tags than All in One SEO Pack for this functionality. Instructions for installation and use, download link etc., can be had from Internet Marketing Monitor’s Meta Tags Home page.
Sidebar Widgets: Widgets are things you can put in your WordPress blog’s sidebar without knowing how to edit a web page. They’re just things you can use to personalize your WordPress site without knowing HTML. Widgets are now part of WordPress core! If you are running WordPress 2.2 or later, you do not need to install the Widgets plugin. Information, download link etc., can be had at Sidebar Widgets (By Automattic, Inc.) home page.
Site Meter: This plugin allows you to easily add Site Meter tracking to your pages. Site Meter is a free, fast, and easy way of adding a visitor counter to your blog. Apart from getting a count on the number of visitors to your blog, it also keeps a statistics on the number of visits each hour and each day, browser used, location of the visitor, screen resolution of the visitor, projected traffic and much other. You could see a small green icon at the bottom of this page doing that job for this blog. Get the installation guide, advantages, disadvantages, download location etc., from Supriyadisw Dot Net.
Share This: This plugin that sits below a post or a page, as you could see the green colored “Share This” plugin at the end of this post, lets your visitors share a post/page with others. Supports e-mail and posting to social bookmarking sites. It helps bringing traffic to your blog. Installation instructions, download link etc., can be had from Share This.
Hope these plugins would be of great help for you too.
