I just got bit this week by an employer who was supposed to pay me $415 yesterday. He emailed me Thursday - "willing to pay you $170 instead, accept it or go into litigation."  I turned it over to Labor Board immediately. Let them deal with him. After that, he sent threatening email to sue me.  FOR WHAT?  It's my computer, I worked for him not the otherway around...sue me? I am just tired of these abusive employers and I am beginning to think we need the Teamsters Union to supply us with hourly wages so we get paid for downtime instead of no paycheck due to no lines, watch how much is outsourced so if any is outsourced it is kept even, affordable healthcare insurance and retirement benefits.  It seems in the past 10 years this industry lost that - used to be here, but not any longer.

Just venting.  Thanks for listening.  Smiley

jm0405,

That is highly disappointing.  This goes without saying: Transcription services should recognize that their most valuable asset is their transcriptionists.  Without quality transcriptionists, a company simply cannot stay in business.

Good luck in your pursuit of a better employer.  If there is anything I can do to be of assistance, please let me know.
